Art Show Season
Every year around April things start to get a little stressful. Multiple National, State, and District level art shows all happen with the next few months. How do you choose which artworks to enter into these shows? Which ones are the best? Which students deserve to be represented? Are they good enough to compete with everyone else?
These are always hard questions to answer, but every year these students produce such amazing works that it doesn't matter.
All of these photos were taken by 9th - 12th graders at Mountain Vista High School. They were chosen to be in one of the many art shows that happen during this time of year. These piece competed on a district level against at least 6 other high schools.
These next photos were also taken by 9th - 12th graders at Mountain Vista High School at the State level during the Scholastics Art Show. They were all recognized with an award including Honorable Mention, Silver Key, and 3 Gold Keys.
Two pieces from that same show were recognized Nationally both receiving Gold Medals. These two students will be honored at a National Award Ceremony in NYC in June.
I am always continually impressed by the works that my students produce, especially this year because of all the recognition they received. They deserve it and will hopefully continue to make impressive and artistic works along the way.
